HOLOFICTION Nominated for the Roman Brodmann Prize 2026

We are proud to announce that HOLOFICTION has been selected as one of the ten nominated films for the prestigious Roman Brodmann Preis 2026.

The nomination follows a highly competitive selection process: a committee of experts from the Haus des Dokumentarfilms reviewed around 130 submissions and chose ten outstanding works to compete for the award. The prize honors politically relevant documentary filmmaking distinguished by a strong authorial voice and artistic vision.

This year’s edition is framed by the overarching theme of the accompanying colloquium: “Autocracy, culture wars, disinformation – is democracy dying?” — a question that resonates strongly with many of the selected works and their engagement with urgent global challenges.

Being included in this shortlist is a significant recognition of HOLOFICTION’s cinematic approach. The film stands among an international selection of works addressing pressing contemporary issues — from geopolitical conflicts to media manipulation and the reinterpretation of archival material. The selection highlights films that combine in-depth research with a distinct creative perspective, as well as high journalistic and artistic quality.

The winner of the Roman Brodmann Prize will be announced on April 24, 2026, during an official ceremony in Berlin, accompanied by the Roman Brodmann Colloquium, where filmmakers and experts from media, politics, and academia will come together for discussion.

We are honored to be part of this remarkable selection and to see HOLOFICTION recognized in such a distinguished and timely context.
