Kosakowski Films has been producing independent art and experimental films, documentaries, feature films, and short films since 2000. Founded by artist and filmmaker Michal Kosakowski, the company also creates video installations and exhibition projects. Its central themes revolve around society, politics, and history, with a strong focus on the interdisciplinary exploration of media-constructed imagery.
Since 2000, Michal Kosakowski has collaborated closely with visual artist and partner Uli Aigner. For her lifelong art project One Million, Kosakowski Films has been responsible for the conception and production of all related films and photography since 2015. The visual presence of nearly all Kosakowski Films projects is expertly crafted and led by Rafal Kosakowski, who has been the driving creative force behind the company’s graphic design for many years.
Another key aspect of Kosakowski’s work is his ongoing collaboration with composers of contemporary and experimental music, integrating their compositions into his cinematic projects in ways that challenge and expand traditional audiovisual storytelling. Among his long-standing and valued collaborators are Italian composer Paolo Marzocchi, known for his innovative approach to modern classical music, and KP Werani, whose explorations between music, sound, and physicality bring a unique and powerful dimension to Kosakowski’s films.
Kosakowski Films also works closely with John Benad who plays a key role in sharpening the company’s public profile and developing strategic approaches for future-oriented and innovative projects.

Kosakowski Films produziert seit dem Jahr 2000 unabhängig Kunst- und Experimentalfilme, Dokumentarfilme, Spielfilme und Kurzfilme. Gegründet wurde das Unternehmen von Künstler und Filmemacher Michal Kosakowski, der zudem Video-Installationen und Ausstellungsprojekte realisiert. Thematisch konzentriert sich seine Arbeit auf Gesellschaft, Politik und Geschichte sowie auf die interdisziplinäre Auseinandersetzung mit medial konstruierten Bildern.
Seit 2000 arbeitet Michal Kosakowski eng mit der bildenden Künstlerin und Partnerin Uli Aigner zusammen. Für ihr lebenslanges Kunstprojekt One Million ist Kosakowski Films seit 2015 für Konzeption, Umsetzung und Fotografie sämtlicher Filmbeiträge verantwortlich. Die visuelle Gestaltung fast aller Produktionen von Kosakowski Films – stammt von Rafal Kosakowski, der seit vielen Jahren als gestalterische Kraft hinter dem visuellen Auftritt des Unternehmens steht.
Ein weiterer zentraler Aspekt von Kosakowskis Arbeit ist die enge Zusammenarbeit mit Komponist:innen aus dem Bereich der zeitgenössischen und experimentellen Musik. Ihre Kompositionen werden in seine filmischen Werke auf eine Weise integriert, die herkömmliche audiovisuelle Erzählformen herausfordert und erweitert. Zu seinen langjährigen und geschätzten künstlerischen Weggefährten zählen unter anderem der italienische Komponist Paolo Marzocchi, bekannt für seine innovativen Ansätze in der zeitgenössischen Musik, sowie KP Werani, dessen Arbeiten im Spannungsfeld zwischen Musik, Klang und Körperlichkeit den Filmen von Kosakowski eine besondere Tiefe und Ausdruckskraft verleihen.
Kosakowski Films arbeitet zudem mit John Benad zusammen, der eine zentrale Rolle bei der Schärfung des öffentlichen Profils des Unternehmens sowie bei der Entwicklung strategischer Ansätze für zukunftsorientierte und innovative Projekte übernimmt.
